The ARK program (Adults Relating to Kids) is a parent support group program developed by Dr. B. Glenn Wilkerson and presented in conjunction with the Children's Center for Self-Esteem, Inc.

ARK groups meet weekly for one hour and provide a forum for teaching adults the techniques for conveying unconditional love to children. Structured lessons help adults deal with behavior issues, communication, responsibility, motivation, etc.

 

ARK provides peer group support and a safe place for sharing the many challenges of interacting with children. 

 

Two new classes are being offered beginning with the new school year, for Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Adult Caregivers and any Adult who is intentional about helping their child, grandchild, neighbor’s child or any other child who could benefit from having a caring Adult in their life.

 

We are very fortunate to have Michelle Hansen and Dana Morales facilitating the Sunday morning class beginning Sunday, September 24 at 10:50 a.m. in Room 27 of the Annex building.

 

If you prefer Wednesdays, beginning October 4th, Shannon Jacobson will be facilitating the Wednesday evening class at 6:30 p.m. in Room 33 of the Annex building, following our Wednesday night dinner at the church.

 

ARK classes are for “Great Parents and Caring Adults” who want to be even more effective at the most difficult job in the world…raising children.  The class format is educational, exciting, fun and includes Affirmations, lessons on DVD’s, and a new network opportunity for participants to engage in challenging and meaningful conversations in a loving and nurturing environment with a process that will develop a caring community of support that will enrich your life for decades to come.

 

Your children will “salute’ the program when you have completed it, because they will be “blessed” by it and your growing purposeful commitment to their lives.

 

The Classes will run for 10 weeks and will cover important topics:

• Understanding the Nature of Unconditional Love
• Creating a New Style of Parenting
• Understanding the Misbehaving Child
• Giving Encouragement
