Campaign Giving Period:  July 1, 2008 -- June 30, 2010

 

 

 

In order to meet the needs of our growing Children’s Education Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Adult Education Ministry, Cypress Creek Christian Church began construction of a Youth/Education Center in 2004. The building will be completed by mid-summer, 2008 -- which is perfect timing in regard to housing our exciting programs of ministry scheduled for this fall.

A three-year capital campaign, designed to provide monies for construction of the building itself, is nearing completion. As with our previous construction projects, this three-year capital  campaign will be followed by a two-year campaign. This new capital endeavor, called REACH, will provide monies to reduce the construction debt and to provide furniture, appointments, sidewalks, covered walkways, and other items needed in order for the building to be outfitted for ministry. These needs are as follows:

1. Interior appointments for the Youth/Eductation Center: Furniture for all three floors, murals, pictures,, window coverings and tinting, security cameras, signage, AV equipment, etc. are all needed to render the building functional.  Estimated cost: $100,000
   
2. Sidewalks, covered walkways, and a porte-cochere: A porte-cochere and covered walkways are needed to provide covered access from the driveway to the Youth// Education Center and from the Youth/Education Center to the Forum (our middle building). Sidewalks are needed as well.
   Estimated cost: $60,000
   
3. Center Court Meditation Garden “fill and drainage”: The courtyard between the Annex, Forum, Youth/Education Center, and Gym is in need of having fill dirt brought in and the entire area re-worked so that it drains properly. Once this work is completed, several families are donating a Meditation Garden to grace the area. Estimated cost of fill and drainage work: $25,000
   
4. Renovation of Annex for Adult Education:  Moving our children and youth classrooms to the new Youth/Education Center will free up seven rooms in the Annex for Adult Education classes. Estimated cost of renovation:  $10,000
   
5. Gymnasium Renovations:  Two new A/C units are needed for the gym. Estimated cost: $15,000
   
6. Outreach Component:  Every capital project at Cypress Creek has traditionally included an Outreach component whereby some of our capital monies are spent on helping others. The campaign will help fund a new church start—modeled after Cypress Creek—in the rapidly-growing 290 area.
   Estimated cost:  $35,000
   
7. Reduction of Construction Loan Debt:  Our goal is to reduce the loan amount as much as possible so as not to substantially increase our current permanent loan incurred by previous building projects.
   Estimated cost: $1,000,000
   
8. Construction Period P&I:  We will need to fund our 2008 principal and interest payments to cover our temporary construction loan.  Estimated cost: $65,000
   
9. Campaign costs:  The REACH campaign leadership will be provided in-house. However, we will incur the cost of campaign materials.
